VISION & MISSION

OUR VISION

SPLASh envisions a Texas coast where local communities and natural resource managers are working together to reduce coastal trash pollution, creating an environment where people, birds, and other wildlife thrive.

OUR MISSION

SPLASh is creating a cleaner environment for people, birds, and other wildlife in the greater Houston-Galveston region through community science, education, and outreach.

SPLASh hosts monthly trash cleanups within our bayous, bays, and Texas shorelines. Volunteers assist in removing trash and collecting data. SPLASh is a proud contributor of the Texas Litter Database where trash data may be used to inform better waste management practices.

COMMUNITY

SCIENCE

Through hands-on classroom lessons and cleanup field trips, SPLASh helps students connect with the birds, wildlife, and habitats around them while building knowledge and skills to better understand Texas's trash pollution problem and solutions..

EDUCATION

OUTREACH

SPLASh engages residents to raise awareness and inspire local action at community events and meetings. Participate in action campaigns like our One Less Plastic Pledge and Beach Sign Art Contest to make a difference and be part of the solution.
